Thailand Day 2 @ Chiang Mai - 18.09.2009

Here... we had our breakfast at the hotel ground floor...

we had a hearty breakfast...

the food was great!

After our breakfast... we headed for our first destination which is the
Maesa Elephant Camp

Getting a few close-up shots...

FASTEERRR!!! the elephant behind is coming...!

These are the pictures drawn by the elephants there.
Its something that they are famous for... and proud of! :)
Can you believe it ?

See it for yourself later in the following pictures ...

Elephants' Show starting ...

Instead of us humans holding hands... they hold tail! ha...

create animated gif

the elephant looks happy...

playing football... cool!

not forgetting the Goalkeeper!

Striker getting ready!

trying to Act Act abit!

and there sheeeee goes...!

here... you see the elephants showing their talent in drawing!
All were very concentrated in their own drawing... if not i think later will 'kana' (get) scold!

Can u see the picture coming out...? if not u may click on the picture to enlarge.

this was the last elephant that was at the centre... doin a landscape drawing starting from the top! Wow...!

Arigato!

these were the other drawings done that day...

and this was the landscape drawing.

pretty accurate!

the elephant on the left actually made me dirty and dropped my shades... argh! haha...

Next, we proceeded for the elephant ride...!

see its so muddy...
i wonder if i fall...? yucks!

here we arrived at the Long Neck Village!

this lady was featured on youtube... see if u can find it... :)

saw the flower on her face?

this is how it looks like over there...
a trail leading up on a gentle slope and people selling stuffs there...
mostly handmade scarfs and bags from silk.

at the end of the trail... theres a small Catholic church.

looking down from the church... where Michelle stood.

nice greenery...

not forgetting to snap a shot with the Tuk Tuk!

the owner of this Tuk Tuk allowed us to sit inside and take a few pictures :)

after that... we went to the snake farm...

and this is the so called "Snake Man" in Chiang Mai
he is good!
when we were bout to leave... he showed us that he lost an index finger... and revealed to us that it was bitten by a king cobra... the doctor had no choice but to amputate it else the poison will spread to other parts of the body.

here.. a cobra which its venom had not been extracted...
the above picture shows the cobra ejecting the venom into a clear container.
(Click on the image to enlarge, u can see the venom clearer)

COBRA

TIGER PYTHON

this i dunno wad snake it is... but the person who brought us in said it wouldn't bite... so i carried.

they felt smooth... jus like those leather bags you carried. haha...

this was a baby snake...
it felt abit rough and dry ... probably its going to shed its skin...

And here... this is the ...

KING COBRA!

the most poisonous snake
initially it was resting or sleeping... but because i said it was sleeping... the staff threw some sand into it and woke the Cobra up... it was then in a defensive mode...
(Click on the picture to enlarge)

along the way in da car...

after that we stopped by and had some snacks n coffee alongside of the road...

we had some spicy food...
it was delicious! :)

after that... we visited this place where they uses clay to make the potteries.

soup spoons that we always use...

this looks like those antidote used for counteracting poison in the old chinese movie we used to watch last time... so called the "Jie Yao" in mandarin... haha...

next we visited the Sinawatra Thai Silk
which we heard from our tour guide that this is actually under Thaksin.

the lady churning out the silk...

Silkworms

the machine that they used to make silk cloth...

In the evening... after resting at the hotel fora while... we headed to the Goodview restaurant by Tuk Tuk to have our dinner... This place is located near the river and was recommended by one of our hotel staff... It was good, just that mich complained of some mosquitoes keeping disturbing her... haha! :P

After that we took a Tuk Tuk back to our hotel again...
took a picture in the Tuk Tuk as shown below.

Back in the hotel we hired 2 female masseurs to our hotel room to massage for us... after a long tiring day!
the massage service that we engaged in was actually recommended by our hotel staff and we made reservation for them to come in the late night around at 1030pm.
it cost around THB 600 per person for 2 hrs of full body Thai massage.
which is around SGD$27 per pax.

we had our massage both on the king size bed...
its was truly relaxing...
